Workshop for violinists and chamber ensembles with Shmuel Ashkenasi (USA) 

Monday 22.2.10 through Thursday 25.2.10, 10:00 am-1:00 pm; 4:30 pm-6:30 pm (on Tuesday morning session only). 

Shmuel Ashkenasi was born in Tel Aviv and studied with Ilona Fehr. At young age he moved to the USA to continue his studies at the Curtis Institute of Music. Ashkenasi won prizes at the most signifcant violin competitions including Belgium's Queen Elisabeth and the Moscow Tchaikovsky competition. Ashkenazi has formed the Vermeer Quartet with whom he tours all over the world and continues to perform regularly as soloist with many of the leading orchestras in Europe and the USA.
Ashkenasi is a professor for violin and chamber music at Roosevelt University's Chicago College and the Curtis Institute of Music.
