Piano Duo Silver-Garburg

The Piano Duo of Sivan Silver & Gil Garburg was founded by the Jerusalem Music Centre in 1997, and comprises two of the most brilliant and promising young Israeli pianists.
Sivan Silver & Gil Garburg won first prize in November 1997 at the Hanover Musikhochschule Competition, where they are currently studying with Prof. Arie Vardi. In July 1998 they won first prize at the “IBLA Grand Prize International Competition”. This award led to an invitation of a CD recording for Athena Records, performances in Italy and France And a debut concert tour of Canada and the USA. (April 1999), at Carnegie Hall, among others.
Sivan and Gil have recorded for radio stations such as Israeli Voice of Music,  NDR in Germany and WQXR in New York. They have appeared in concerts in Germany, Italy, Israel, Norway, Canada and the USA.
Sivan Silver and Gil Garburg have an extensive repertoire, including contemporary works written and dedicated to them, such as “Harmonic Sound Image for Sivan and Gil” by celebrated Israeli composer Sergiu Natra and “Carillon”, whose theme is built from the letters of their names, by Marcello Abbado.
